The aim of the fit-out joinery course is to introduce practical learning process that compliments & reinforces academically acquired knowledge through the medium of hands on training. The idea is to aid participants gain command on materials & services and to endow the confidence and self reliance to lead projects from design to implementation while adhering to the budget constraints. Therefore, creating a platform for a possibility of taking up entrepreneurship.

One of the success stories came in form of shaping the career of an international student from Africa, Ikiri Dominic Egana, taking inspiration from the course he wrote his final year thesis for Masters in Interior Design course, under the title “The Recycling Of Wood Waste For A Sustainable Interior Design Of An Academic Library“. In his design thesis he had redesigned the existing academy’s library using wood waste. The experience was further carried into being able to accept the challenge to redesign training rooms for Etisalat Training Academy within the budget constraint. Under the guidance of the principal designer at ANID Turnkey Projects contracting LLC, Dominic succeeded in being short-listed the project against four other bidders.
